The winner of last week’s Boys Athlete of the Week poll was Old Rochester’s Malik Washburn. He had more than 3,000 votes (57%) to receive the honor.

At the Mercury Games Invitational, Washburn won the 110 hurdles with a school-record time of 14.31 seconds, which ranks No. 1 in the state. He also placed second in the triple jump, tying his own school record of 43-10.

Previous winners were Old Colony’s Rowan Caulkins, New Bedford’s Jonah Wahnon and Old Rochester’s Chase DeMello.

The winner of the Preseason Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year poll was New Bedford’s Logan Alves with more than 38,000 votes (44%). The winner of the Preseason Boys Volleyball Player of the Year poll was GNB Voc-Tech’s Chace Garcia with more than 3,000 votes (55%).

Benji Baptiste, Old Rochester

Against GNB Voc-Tech, Baptiste came in first in the long jump and 100.

Noah Robert-Howley, Old Rochester

Robert-Howley won the mile and 2-mile against GNB Voc-Tech.

Noah Thorell, Old Rochester

Thorell came in first in the high jump and 400 against GNB Voc-Tech.

Malik Washburn, Old Rochester

Washburn took first in the 110 hurdles and triple jump against GNB Voc-Tech.

Ty-Rell Pires, Wareham

Against South Shore Voc-Tech, Pires won the shot put, javelin and discus.

Ryland Potter, Wareham

Potter came in first in the high jump, 110 hurdles and 200 against South Shore Voc-Tech.

Chace Garcia, GNB Voc-Tech

In two matches, Garcia had a combined 56 assists. He also had 6 digs against Southeastern.

Evan Monteiro, GNB Voc-Tech

Monteiro had a combined 16 kills and 19 digs in a pair of matches. He also had 3 blocks against Southeastern.

Mateo Paquette, GNB Voc-Tech

Paquette had a combined 18 kills in a pair of games. He also had 5 digs against Southeastern.

Corey Blevines, New Bedford

Blevines had a combined 20 kills in three matches.

Jesiah Rodriguez, New Bedford

In three matches, Rodriguez had a combined 52 assists. He also had 14 service points and 9 digs against Randolph.

Baril had a combined 27 saves in a pair of games.

Nick Barriga, Apponequet

Barriga had a team-high 5 goals in a win over Dartmouth.

In two games, Procaccini had a combined 4 goals and 1 assist.

Brady Ellsworth, Bishop Stang

Ellsworth had a combined 6 goals and 2 assists in three games.

Andrew Lally, Bishop Stang

In three games, Lally had a combined 11 goals and 7 assists.

Will Sanders, Bishop Stang

Sanders had a combined 34 saves and 1 assist in three games.

Gavin Herman, Fairhaven

In two games, Herman had a combined 4 goals and 1 assist.

Zach Moura, Fairhaven

Moura made 11 saves to earn his first shutout of the season in net against Seekonk.

Conner Araujo, GNB Voc-Tech

In two games, Araujo had a combined 11 goals and 2 assists.

Carter Lister, GNB Voc-Tech

Parajuli won his first singles matches against Dennis-Yarmouth and Seekonk.

KJ Bonner, Wareham

Bonner won his first singles match against New Bedford to help the Vikings clinch a playoff berth.
