- *The View* cohost Sara Haines spoke about Renee Nicole Good's death at the hands of an ICE agent.
- Haines said that while Good "does not deserve to be dead," her car "obstructing or cutting people off" created a "tinderbox."

One week after an ICE officer was captured on camera shooting and killing a Minnesota woman in her moving vehicle, *The View* cohost Sara Haines has alleged that Renee Nicole Good contributed to tensions that led to her death.
While the cohosts dissected the topic at length last week, Whoopi Goldberg introduced another talking point on Monday about the deadly exchange, which Haines said indicated a need to be more peaceful while protesting the ICE raids on undocumented people around the United States.
"He was also holding a phone up while he was holding his weapon. These are all things they shouldn't be doing," Haines said of the ICE agents seen on camera surrounding Good's car. Footage also shows Good and her wife exchanging words with the officers before Good — whose vehicle initially stretched horizontally across the road — was shot and killed as she attempted to drive away from the scene.
Haines continued, calling the moment "a reminder as this is happening in our country, we have to have peaceful protests," she said.

"Any time you have someone that's obstructing or cutting people off — she does not deserve to be dead, but that is also creating this situation of a tinderbox," Haines alleged. "This is why we're seeing more shootings right now. These legal watchers: Step back, record everything, get it all down, but the fact that she was cutting off the road also contributed to the heat of this situation."
Haines maintained that "we've got to remain peaceful" and that those engaging in ICE protests "can leave no room for error on this."
Goldberg stepped in to counter Haines' observation, stating, "I don't know why she was... from my understanding she had just dropped her kid off." To which Haines replied, "The videos have now revealed that her partner and her were coming to watch these, or slow up the ICE... they wanted to notify the public the ICE officers were coming, so she meant to park that way."
Panelist Ana Navarro said that, still, "there were cars that were going around her car," while former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin again stressed that she felt the killing of Good was illegal.

"We all know that it's unlawful, regardless of whether or not you believe she was an agitator, regardless of whether or not you believe she was in the way, the bottom line is the officer's actions were unlawful," asserted Hostin. "That was an unlawful killing. It was illegal, from a legal perspective. That's very black and white for me."
Hostin again cited a 1985 Supreme Court ruling, *Tennessee v. Garner,* in her assessment, with the ruling finding that an officer may only use deadly force on a moving vehicle under the "good-faith belief that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others."
"When that woman went in reverse and moved away from the officers... all that officer needed to do was move out of the way," Hostin said last week on *The View*.**

Government officials have strongly condemned Good's actions before the ICE officer killed her, with the Department of Homeland Security representative Tricia McLaughlin saying in an email statement to EW that the moment saw "rioters began blocking ICE officers." McLaughlin labeled Good as "violent" and claimed that she "weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them — an act of domestic terrorism."

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also called Good's actions an "act of domestic terrorism" specifically targeting ICE agents, alleging that the Minnesota mother “attempted to run them over and rammed them with her vehicle. An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively, shot, to protect himself and the people around him."
Navarro subsequently called Noem's assessment "clownish" during* The View'*s latest broadcast.
