SZA attended the 2026 Met Gala in a golden yellow dress designed by Emily Adams Bode Aujla.

The look was accessorized with flowers, shells, and a sheer butterfly cape.

The singer last attended the Met Gala in 2022.

SZA has made her return to the Met Gala tonight after a four-year hiatus. The “Saturn” singer walked the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s famous steps in a golden look that was fit for a fairy.

She wore a corset dress with a tiered and embroidered skirt designed by Emily Adams Bode Aujla (the designer behind Bode), with 100 yards of material sourced from eBay. While on the red carpet, SZA extended her arms to reveal a sheer butterfly-inspired cape detail—held up by several beaded bracelets that decorated her arms—that contained swirling patterns and symmetrical floral details.

SZA accessorized the bright yellow look with a matching headpiece decorated with pincushion protea, moth orchids, and calla lilies in yellow, in addition to chains of cowrie shells and champagne-colored jewels.

“We worked with a vintage dealer who sourced over a hundred yards of yellow fabrics for us in various materials—tulle, taffeta, silk faille, and beadwork on lace,” the designer said in an interview with Vogue about the look. “Her affinity for moths, butterflies, and other insects, alongside her world travels and [interest in] specific deities, played a significant role in shaping the final look.”

SZA last attended the Met Gala in 2022 to celebrate “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” For that Met, she wore a bold fuchsia gown by Vivienne Westwood.

After attending the event in 2022, SZA told Grazia that walking the red carpet alongside the other celebrities in attendance was “terrifying.”

“Literally, everyone was at my table,” SZA added. “I talked the most to Kylie Jenner, Jack Harlow, and Chloe Bailey. Everyone was so nice! Especially the Instagram team, so very thankful to them for inviting me.” She also pulled double duty that night by performing during the camera-free event, and said, “It was fun; I always love singing. I saw some old friends, like Coco and Breezy, I haven’t seen in a long time since I lived in the city.”
