Rachel Zoe and her estranged husband, Rodger Berman, admittedly had no reason to sign a prenuptial agreement before they got married.

ā€œIf I could rewind, like, I would do that so differently,ā€ Zoe, 55, said on the Tuesday, October 28, episode of the ā€œAspireā€ podcast. ā€œI think that in marriage, what I'm finding now, friends of mine, they're like, ā€˜I have my money, he has his money, and then there's ours.’ That is so beautiful and brilliant because you don't know what's going to happen. No one knows what’s going to happen.ā€

Zoe and Berman, 57, announced in 2024 that they separated after two decades of marriage. The now-exes, who share two sons, have nearly reached a divorce settlement.

ā€œThe reason that I didn't have a prenup is because we met when I was 19 … [and] we were kids,ā€ the stylist explained of not signing a premarital agreement. ā€œHe was waiting tables, I was in college.ā€

ā€œWe were dying next to each other. We were what everybody called ā€˜The Notebook couple.’ There was not a world that we were not, like, dying holding hands, you know?ā€ Zoe stressed. ā€œI mean, there is a world, and that world is now.ā€

As Zoe and Berman navigate their divorce, they have remained focused on coparenting their children.

Rachel Zoe Says She Doesn’t ā€˜Need a Man’ After Divorce, But Is Open to Getting Married Again

ā€œI would say that being a single mom for me has been easier than not … because every decision I make is mine and ours, me and the boys,ā€ the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star noted. ā€œThere's a tremendous responsibility that women have for their husbands. I can't speak for every woman, but I can tell you that so much of my emotional spend was on my ex-husband.ā€

She continued, explaining, ā€œIt means that when you love someone or when you look after someone, when you care about someone, when you think about someone, when you everything someone who is your other half, …if you remove that part, there is a huge chunk that you don’t have to be conscious of anymore.ā€

According to Zoe, ā€œconsidering someone else's opinion and thoughtsā€ on all of her decisions had taken a toll on her mental headspace.

ā€œI feel this immense weight is off of me, so I would absolutely say, with all confidence, that being a single mom for me has been 10x easier than being a married one,ā€ Zoe said. ā€œI do [feel free]. I think that, when it comes to finances, there is a trap that women can get in because they don’t know, they don't want to know [or because] he was the finance person, and there's a trust in that.ā€
