Prairie Land Conservancy is searching for a new board member to help guide the organization’s efforts in west-central Illinois.
The conservancy, which works to protect wildlife habitats, open spaces and sustainable agriculture, is looking for individuals with a passion for conservation and a desire to make a positive impact, according to a community announcement.
The service area includes Adams, Brown, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, Peoria, Pike, Rock Island, Schuyler, Tazewell and Warren counties.
Commitment is 3 hours per month
The organization is seeking candidates with strong leadership, decision-making, communication and teamwork skills. Experience in land management, public relations, marketing, fundraising, accounting or volunteer management is also valued.
Board members are expected to commit about three hours per month to meetings and committees, with an additional two to four hours for special events or volunteering.

They will serve as advocates for the organization, work on securing financial resources and partnerships, and engage in strategic and organizational planning, according to the announcement.
