A representative for the Colombian singer has since confirmed that he and his team were killed in the incident with a statement shared to Jiménez's official Instagram page.
"With heavy hearts and indescribable grief, Yeison Jiménez's organization and team deeply regret to announce his passing," the statement, translated from Spanish, began. "Today, we not only say goodbye to an artist; we say goodbye to a son, a brother, a friend, a human being full of dreams and courage, who transformed his story into a source of hope for thousands."
The post went on to identify the other victims killed in the crash as Jefferson Osorio, Juan Manuel, Oscar MarĂn, Weisman Mora, and Captain Fernando Torres.
After offering condolences to all affected families, the post concluded, "Yeison may be gone physically, but his legacy lives on: in his songs, in his words, in his struggles, in his refusal to give up, and in the indelible mark he leaves on Colombian regional music and in the hearts of his people. His light will continue to shine every time someone sings one of his songs and remembers that it is possible to overcome adversity."

Weeks prior to the accident, Jiménez revealed in a televised interview that he had several vivid dreams predicting his own death in a plane crash.
"I dreamt three times that we were going to have a plane crash and that I had to tell the pilot to turn around," Jimenez said in a December interview with Colombian TV station Caracol. "And when he arrived, heâd say, âOh, boss, thank goodness you told me because something went wrong, but I fixed it, get in.'"
At just 34, JimĂ©nez was one of the biggest names in Colombian popular music, or "mĂșsica popular," a genre that blends traditional Mexican ranchera music with Colombian roots. In 2024, he celebrated a major career milestone, selling out BogotĂĄâs Movistar Arena three times, with an audience of more than 40,000 fans.
