During a recent Capital Buzz interview, the 22-year-old *Stranger Things* alum revealed that she believes she was a closeted gay soldier who died by sword in a past life.

“Oh, I actually know exactly who I was,” Brown told her *Enola Holmes 3 *costar Louis Partridge. “I died… Basically, I have a birthmark [on] my lower back, the very bottom of my kind of spine, which is obviously meant to be the way that you died in your past life.”

And she knows how it may have happened.

“In war, some, well, I don't know if this happened a lot or not, but… to kill people but make them have a painful death, they would put swords up people's spines,” she elaborated. “So they were completely paralyzed, but they would obviously kind of die, and that's how I think I died. So I think I might have been a soldier.”

It’s not immediately clear which war Brown believes that she may have lost her life in, especially since swords haven’t been commonly used in battle for decades if not centuries. One thing’s for sure: she was “definitely a man” last time she visited Earth.

“Hopefully a closeted gay man,” she added.

She then proceeded to ask Partridge if he knew of any of his own previous incarnations. “No, I don't believe in past lives,” he said, to which Brown simply responded, “Okay, well, that ends that then.”

Brown got her chance to wield a sword in this lifetime in her 2024 action film *Damsel*, in which she starred as a young woman who agrees to marry a prince only to be sacrificed to a dragon by the royal family. The film also starred Ray Winstone, Angela Bassett, Nick Robinson, and Robin Wright.

After hearing her theory about past lives, Partridge asked Brown to share her thoughts on what happens when we die. “You go to heaven,” she said. “That’s what I believe.”
