Happy New Year, ya filthy animals. Macaulay Culkin is hitting the awards season circuit.

The Golden Globe-nominated "Home Alone" star made an appearance at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 11, to present the award for best screenplay for a motion picture. Culkin, 45, attended the ceremony with his longtime partner, Brenda Song.

Culkin and the Golden Globes go way back. Following his breakthrough role in "Home Alone," the then-child star received a nomination for best actor in a musical or comedy film in 1991.

Culkin's appearance onstage drew a warm roar of applause from the audience, which appeared to make the actor emotional.

"Wow, thanks guys. It's been 35 years since I've been to the Globes," Culkin said after touching his hand to his chest. "Thanks for welcoming me back. That's really nice of you guys."

Culkin also took a moment to poke fun at the seasonal legacy of "Home Alone," which is widely regarded as a Christmas classic.

"I know it's weird seeing me outside the holiday season," Culkin continued. "But shockingly, I do exist all year round. I promise you."

The actor, who's appeared in over 20 films across his nearly four-decade career, went on to praise the importance of film writing as he prepared to announce the best screenplay category.

"I've been reading screenplays basically since I learned to read," Culkin said. "A good script is the basis of it all. None of us would be here tonight without the ideas that the writers craft on the page."

In the end, "One Battle After Another" director Paul Thomas Anderson was the cinematic wordsmith who won the screenplay award.
