- - John Mellencamp Shares Health Update on Daughter Teddi Amid Stage 4 Cancer Battle

John Mellencamp is speaking candidly about his daughter Teddi Mellencamp's ongoing cancer treatment.

On a Wednesday, Jan. 14, episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, the musician revealed that currently his daughter is "really sick."

Teddi was first diagnosed with stage II melanoma in March 2022, and she announced in April 2025, that it had progressed to stage IV and metastasized to her brain and lungs. In Oct. 2025, Teddi shared that she was cancer free.

"Just to give a little life update to you guys, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and I did my scans and at this point there is no detectable cancer," she shared in an Oct. 3, 2025, episode of her podcast Two T's in a Pod.

In the Jan. 14 interview with Rogan, John opened up about the state of his daughter's health.

"It’s not f***king fun,” he said. "She’s got cancer in the brain, and she’s suffering right now.”

Teddi had previously shared in April 2025, that when she was initially diagnosed with melanoma, doctors had told her treatment had a "50/50" chance of success.

"It’s one of my favorite things to ask: ‘How long I got? What are my chances?’ And they oftentimes say 50/50,” she said.

Since her diagnosis, Teddi has undergone 17 surgeries as well as immunotherapy and radiation to treat the aggressive cancer.
