Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about advocating for herself.

The Academy Award-winning actress, 36, is the latest guest on Call Her Daddy, where she reflected on her years-long career, noting in the conversation, which premiered Wednesday, Oct. 28, that being “malleable” is “part of the job.”

She gave an example from Die My Love, where director Lynne Ramsay told her she needed to cut her hair, dye it platinum blonde and get mullet bangs.

She ended up loving it, but realized that, as an industry leader, she could speak up when needed.

“There was an instance on set where crew members who were not approved when I was doing nudity were on set,” explained Lawrence. “I came down hard on it, purely because if we are not setting that principle, then what on earth is going to happen to an 18-year-old unknown when she shows up and there’s people on set who are not approved [to be there]?”

“She’s going to be in a position of: ‘Do I say something and get a reputation for being difficult, or do I let these people that I’m not comfortable seeing me naked see me naked?’ ” continued Lawrence. “It was important to me to explain that to the people why that was not okay.”

Lawrence, for her part, has previously said she is “not sensitive” to nudity.

In a video captured by Vulture at a special screening of Die My Love, she said that she wanted Ramsay, 56, to have “total freedom artistically.”

“I remember them sending over a close-up of, like, cellulite being like, ‘Do you want us to touch this up?’ ” Lawrence recalled. “And I was like, “‘No. That’s an ass.’ ”

Die My Love tracks Grace’s (Lawrence) psychological state as she moves with Jackson from New York City to rural Montana. The film was co-adapted by Ramsay, Alice Birch and Enda Walsh from the 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz.
