The pair appeared together on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark before Paul's pivot to boxing and Rodrigo's career as a pop star
During Rodrigo's monologue, she joked, “We'd always talk about our futures, me and Jake. I'd say, ‘I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,' and he'd say, ‘Well, one day, I really want to beat up old guys on Netflix.' And we both did it — hooray!”
Jake Paul is addressing the moment Olivia Rodrigo dropped his name during her Saturday Night Live monologue.
On May 2, the “Drop Dead” singer, 23, delivered her first-ever monologue on the iconic Studio 8H stage, during which she took a trip down memory lane to relive some of her earliest acting roles, including her stint on the Disney Channel sitcom Bizaardvark.
“We had an incredible cast, which included acting legend Jake Paul,” she told the live audience. “We'd always talk about our futures, me and Jake. I'd say, ‘I really want to create music that explores the complexities of girls my age,' and he'd say, ‘Well, one day, I really want to beat up old guys on Netflix.' And we both did it — hooray!”
Paul — who became a professional boxer in 2020, and famously defeated legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a November 2024 match — took to TikTok on May 3 to share his reaction to the jab.

In his clip, he laughed along to Rodrigo's monologue, adding in the caption, “We manifested it fr that's my dawg.”

“We had the vision 😂” Paul, 29, wrote in a post on X further responding to Rodrigo's SNL monologue. “i told you that you would sell stadiums out and then we both did🤯 proud of you fr.”
Since her days on Bizaardvark, Rodrigo has skyrocketed to A-list status, releasing a pair of No. 1 albums, SOUR in 2021 and GUTS in 2023, with a third album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love, set to be released on June 12.

Her May 2 SNL appearance marked her third time on the show and her first doing “double duty” — appearing as the host and musical guest during the same episode.
Paul, who first rose to fame on the now-defunct app Vine in 2014, made a sharp career shift toward boxing after departing Bizaardvark in 2017. He made his debut in a 2018 white-collar match and officially went pro in 2020.
