After the party is the Saint Laurent after-party. Joining Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz at People’s Bar in New York City, Hunter Schafer kept the Met Gala celebrations going with the perfect little party dress.

Made custom by emerging London-based designer Steve O Smith, the piece was designed from sheer, light-weight tulle with a flirty little tutu miniskirt. On top of the delicate ballerina silhouette, contrasting “scribbles” were embellished in black, creating a shadow effect that added a dynamic layer to the look.

Known for crafting garments that, quite literally, serve as wearable works of art, the Central Saint Martins alum has found his groove in the space between the 2D and the 3D. He has perfected a method of “drawing” on pieces, cutting out his sketches in fabric, and sewing them straight onto the form to play with perspective. The emotive result earned him LVMH’s Karl Lagerfeld Award, and gigs dressing Ariana Grande and Raye.

Schafer and stylist Dara paired the custom design with a yellow bag and Christian Louboutin pumps. The Euphoria star left her hair in her Met Gala waves, and headed inside to celebrate with the likes of Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Connor Storrie, A$AP Rocky, Margot Robbie, and Olivia Rodrigo.

For the main event, the actor-stylist duo worked with Prada on a custom gown inspired by Gustav Klimt’s portrait of Mäda Primavesi.
