Paige Price Muniz is defending her estranged husband, Frankie Muniz, after the public scrutinized their divorce announcement.
The Malcolm in the Middle actor, 40, and Paige announced in a Wednesday, July 1, social media post that they are splitting up after 10 years of marriage. However, the initial video was removed shortly after, and they shared the news in a different post.
Paige, 33, then commented under their new post: "Frankie, I am so sorry that you felt the need to delete an old fun video of our family because people are so cruel to you."
"This world is so f---ed... divorce is bad, sure — it's not like we're excited about it... but we're two adults who know how to be on the same team," she continued. "I can't believe people could scrutinize that."

One user asked Paige why she shared the comment publicly, and she replied that she had spoken directly to him. "I did say it to his face. 1000 times," she wrote.
"And I'll say it through text just as much because I genuinely care. That's the point."

Paige also posted to her Instagram Stories, seemingly referencing the public's reaction to the first announcement. "The internet is a scary place. I wish you all a kinder sea," the text overlay read atop a black and white photo of the ocean.
The original post featured the former couple with their 5-year-old son Mauz dancing together to We the Kings' “Check Yes, Juliet.” As the video ended, the actor held Mauz up and pretended to play him like an air guitar.
The pair explained in the original post that they were privately separated before deciding to divorce. "Who says you can't stay best friends with your baby momma?"
"After 10 beautiful years together, we've grown in ways that made us realize our relationship feels most natural and strong as a deep friendship and as co-parents," Frankie continued. "We share an incredible son who remains the center of our world, and we're both happier, stronger parents because of the love and growth we've shared."
The statement concluded with the actor requesting privacy for their family and their son. "We're closing one chapter with gratitude and opening the next with bright futures ahead, for us as individuals and especially for our son," he wrote. "Thank you for the love and support."

The pair first met in 2016 and were engaged in November 2018. Less than a year later, in October 2019, they eloped and then married at a wedding in February 2020. They welcomed their son in March 2021.
Frankie told PEOPLE in February 2025 how much he enjoys being a father. "I love it. I am always striving to be the best dad I can be," he shared. "I think I am a good dad, but I always feel like I can be better. So just trying to be there."
