The 83rd Annual Golden Globes have officially wrapped, and as always, it featured no shortage of headline-making fashion moments, and not all of them for the right reasons.
While the ceremony had its fair share of honoring television, all eyes were initially fixed on the red carpet to see how the industryâs elite handled the fashion stage.
As is often the case, the pressure to stand out among a room full of icons led to several style risks that failed to translate effectively.
From experimental silhouettes that missed the mark to statement pieces that felt more chaotic than chic, hereâs a comprehensive look at the worst outfits that fell flat with fans.
#1 Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande finally ditched her Glinda-pink era and went for a darker, more Ariana-coded look.Ahead of the show, the pop diva said her Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture felt âkind of blindsiding.ââYou donât expect something like this, let alone [for it] to happen twice for the same role,â she told The Hollywood Reporter last month after her second consecutive nomination for her performance as Glinda in the Wicked series. âSo Iâm just deeply honored. Iâm just really moved by it.âFor the glitzy award show on Sunday, Ariana wore a black Vivienne Westwood couture gown that featured a draped corseted gown and a velvet bow detail. She topped off the look with her signature ponytail âYou can tell she hates this dress,â one comment said.âIt looks like a birthday cake,â read a second comment, while a third said, âi love the glam, but NOT her dressâŠââi thought this was ai omg,â said a fourth.âShe looks like a little girl putting on her mom's dress,â one said. One asked, âWhy does she look like a little kid who lost her mom in the crowd?â

#2 Emma Stone
A year after she debuted a pixie cut at last yearâs Golden Globes, Emma Stone is in her âbob era.âNominated in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy category for Bugonia, the star encouraged people to chop off their hair if they felt like it.âI highly recommend shaving your head if youâre thinking about it,â she told Vogue ahead of the show. âMy goal is to have hair down to my knees by next year.ââWe're in our bob era,â noted Emmaâs longtime hairstylist Mara Roszak. While her hair created a buzz, netizens felt she strolled onto the red carpet in a look that felt overly casual.âConvenient, buy the skirt then wear the shopping bag as a top,â one said, while another wrote, âShe buy that off TEMU formal ware.ââLittle planner and less formal than I wouldâve gone with myself, but the pastel is complementary to her tone,â one said.âI love the color but I am not a fan of the outfit. It looks off on her,â wrote another.
