Barry Manilow performs during the "Manilow: The Last Seattle Concert" on July 12, 2025 in Seattle, Washington.

During each show, the "Mandy" performer will celebrate local music educators with the Manilow Music Teacher Award from his Manilow Music Project, a program of the Manilow Fund.

Nominees will be announced on Jan. 22, and fans can then vote for the recipient of a $5,000 cash award and $5,000 in “Manilow Bucks” for classroom instrument purchases.

Last month, Manilow announced a break from performing via Facebook after doctors found the cancerous spot in his lung. "As many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks," he said at the time.

"Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI to make sure that everything was OK," continued Manilow.

He added, "The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It's pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That's the good news."

Manilow the "bad news" was that he needed surgery to remove the spot. "The doctors do not believe it was spread and I'm taking tests to confirm their diagnosis. So, that's it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns," he explained.

The icon, who postponed several shows at the time, later told PEOPLE he was feeling "great" and had "no symptoms."

"I’m thankful that my doctors were proactive and ran tests that typically wouldn’t be done," he continued, adding that the cancer is stage one. "They caught it very, very early."
