AHSAA soccer tournament in Huntsville delayed by storms

HUNTSVILLE — The AHSAA soccer state tournament has entered a weather delay on Wednesday, May 6.
The delay started around 9 a.m. CT as weather entered the area of John Hunt Park in Huntsville. A restart time of 9:45 a.m. has been announced by the AHSAA. The delay happened during the Class 4A girls semifinal games.
There was a chance of rain throughout the evening hours. The National Weather Service issued a level two risk of severe storms and forecasted that it would hit the Huntsville area around 4 p.m.
The NWS has forecasted a chance of wind gust up to 60 miles-per-hour with a chance of hail and tornadoes for north Alabama. There is also a chance for flooding in the area, meaning the impacts could linger into Thursday of the final four.
