When Teyana Taylor struts on any red carpet, she always finds the light.

Since the start of awards season, Taylor has become a favorite among fans and style enthusiasts. Throughout her 20-year career, the multi-hyphenate entertainer blossomed in front of the world, proving her prowess in music, film and fashion.

But this year alone, the “Rose in Harlem” artist has been receiving flowers for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” earning a Golden Globes win. With her star power rising, the 35-year-old has been one to watch. And in true Taylor fashion, she always makes a grand entrance at every event.

USA TODAY analyzed some of Taylor’s best looks with Ebony Brown, a celebrity stylist and author of "Undeniably Visible: The Fashion Identity Shift That Transforms Your Self-Worth and Net Worth."

“Teyana Taylor is exactly who she thinks she is and has been forever, so I think the world is just now catching up to her artistry,” Brown said. “This whole award season's fashion run will definitely end up in the studio collection, in a museum.”

Teyana Taylor has taken jaw-dropping fashion to new heights this awards season, turning out breathtaking looks on every red carpet. Here are some of the most memorable style moments for the Oscar-nominated star of "One Battle After Another."

Who is Teyana Taylor? A look at her career.

'Pushing the limits'

Teyana Taylor's award season looks belong in a "museum," stylist says.

The key to a striking red carpet moment is not playing it safe, Brown says. In Taylor’s case, the Harlem, New York, native leans into being well-rounded, unpredictable and creative.

At the 2026 Golden Globes, she landed on the best dressed list for wearing an elegant custom black Schiaparelli floor-length gown with a Y2K-inspired peekaboo diamond thong. The actress took a streetwear concept and elevated it.

At Netflix’s “The Rip” premiere, she wore a black sculpted hip couture Ashi Studio gown that covered half of her face. But her bold eyeliner glam did the talking.

“She doesn't care about pushing the limits,” Brown said. “The thing about fashion is you're either going to love it, or you might hate it. When people feel uncomfortable, that's how you know you've created something iconic.”

Teyana Taylor poses on the red carpet during the 2026 British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) at the Royal Festival Hall in the Southbank Centre, London, Britain, February 22, 2026.

Taylor stunned at the Grammys in a custom Tom Ford dress with her abs on display. She switched it up at the BAFTAs in a fully covered, ruffled, aubergine-colored Burberry trench with a fierce collar.

“She uses her body as art, and she incorporates fashion as art,” Brown says, adding that the BAFTAs look “was a lot of volume, which most people run away from. Teyana Taylor walks right into it. She doesn't care … if she's not showing her body all the time."

Taylor showcases her versatility with androgynous ensembles, like her navy Alexander McQueen suit paired with an ivory laced harness at the AFI Awards Luncheon. For the Critics' Choice Awards, she donned a chic olive Saint Laurent getup with showstopping over-the-knee Joe boots.

Actors Pedro Pascal and Alexander Skarsgård were spotted rocking them fresh off the runway, per Vogue, and the footwear debuted at the fall 2025 menswear show. Of course, Taylor added more edginess with a black fur statement piece over her shoulder and leather gloves.

“She's wearing menswear that's typically not even worn in these settings," Brown said. "Leave it to Teyana Taylor to get her hands on the coveted boots of the entire season."

Taylor’s Actors Awards look was the icing on the cake

Taylor continued her fashion streak at the Actor Awards, shutting down the red carpet in a custom silver and grey Thom Browne trompe-l'oeil dress with a body-sculpted illusion, as if it were painted on. She paired the look with Tiffany & Co. accessories and her date for the night was her daughter, Rue Rose, who helped fix her train.

“That sculptural bodice, the Tiffany jewelry, the fact that it was almost like tone on tone with her skin. It was quite literally walking art,” Brown gushed. “Having her daughter on the carpet with her, helping her with her dress, is what makes Teyana Taylor so relatable.”

Her makeup was her signature soft glam: nude lip and smoke eye detail. Her pixie cut has also become a staple, whether she wears it curly, straight, slicked back, or even with extensions for pigtails. It’s all coordinated creative direction, Brown says.

“You wouldn't even think that that's the same haircut, the way it's styled differently for each look. She's really more of a theatrical type of person when it comes to her styling. She gives everything context,” she added. “Her whole team clearly works together to make sure she has a cohesive look every single time.”

What will Taylor wear to the Oscars?

Taylor notably has strong relationships with brands and designers, and has been collaborating with styling heavy hitters Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald for different looks throughout the season. However, Taylor has made it clear that her daughters, Rue and Junie, are her “co-stylists” who give her final approval.

“With the big awards shows, I design directly with the designer. And then I turn to my babies like, ‘What y’all think about this? Do I do the one with the party in the back or the party in the front?" she said.

In an interview with USA TODAY at the TIME Women of the Year red carpet earlier this week, Taylor didn’t give too much detail about her look for the Oscars, where she’s nominated for best supporting actress.

Teyana Taylor attends the 37th Annual Palm Springs International Film Awards at Palm Springs Convention Center on January 03, 2026 in Palm Springs, California.

“I promise I’m not going to disappoint. But just stay tuned,” she said. “If I start hinting and stuff, I feel like everyone’s going to go down the rabbit hole of what it’s going to look like.”

Brown predicts Taylor will do a custom look again.

“It doesn't matter which designer she works with. Whoever she works with will be blessed to work with her. I can almost assure you, designers were knocking down the door,” she explained. “I would love to see her in a nice, beautiful, belle of the ball (styled gown), but still give us fashion.”
