Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers has dropped the first look at his upcoming album, Honora, and it's more than just a preview. The visual reveal also carries a deeper personal meaning.
Following the announcement of his first-ever solo album after his nearly five-decade career as a musician, fans are eager to get a glimpse into what’s in store for the founding member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as he embarks on his solo career.
In an Instagram update, the 63-year-old officially unveiled the album cover for Honora and proudly introduced the woman featured in the striking artwork.
The cover features a portrait of a beautiful woman with a white bird perched on her shoulder.
According to Flea, he chose this cover as a tribute to his Persian mother-in-law.
“This is the cover for my record HONORA, coming out at the end of March. The cover is a photograph of my mother-in-law, in Iran in the late 60’s, the beautiful Shahin Badiyan. Shahin is a strong Persian woman, and the spirit of a free Iran lives in her heart,” he wrote.
