Robert Patrick has worked on two of Taylor Sheridan’s biggest series, the Yellowstone prequel series 1923 and Tulsa King
Patrick tells PEOPLE that Sheridan’s scripts are “amazing,” recalling conversations with his 1923 costar Harrison Ford about Sheridan’s writing
“I hope to work with him again,” the Terminator 2 star says of Sheridan
Robert Patrick has very high praise for Taylor Sheridan’s writing.
The Terminator 2 star, 67, starred in both seasons of the Yellowstone prequel series 1923, marking his first experience working on one of Sheridan’s shows. “I loved it,” Patrick tells PEOPLE of making the series, which concluded last year.
“Harrison [Ford] and I had worked together, like, 16 years earlier in a movie called Firewall, and we got together on the first day, we had the first scene, and we were talking about the script, and I was going, like, it’s like reading Ernest Hemingway,” Patrick recalls. “I mean, these scripts — it’s like For Whom the Bell Tolls or something.”
“It’s just so rich, and we both agreed that it was,” he says of Ford, 84. “The scripts were amazing.”

Working with Ford was also a highlight. “I love the guy, he’s a great guy [and] an amazing actor,” Patrick says. “We had so much fun.”
He followed up 1923 with Tulsa King, joining Sylvester Stallone in season 3 as mafia leader Jeremiah Dunmire — another reunion for Patrick. “I had done Cop Land with Sylvester, and we did another movie called I.C.U. that was terrific,” he says. “To do another Taylor Sheridan show with Sly — Tulsa King was a wonderful opportunity, and I loved working with Sylvester.”

“He’s so great,” he continues of Stallone, 80. “One of my favorite people. Just a warm, generous human being, incredibly talented. And we had a ball.”
Despite working on two of Sheridan’s biggest hits, Patrick reveals he has yet to meet the prolific writer. “I never saw Taylor on the set,” he says. “I think the role was written for me for 1923, Johnny Papsidera cast it. But I haven’t yet met [Sheridan], but I’m a huge fan.”
“He’s a fantastic writer, as I said. I thought the script… it was like reading this romantic novel,” he adds of 1923. “I hope to work with him again.”
